$190 ($230 non-members)
Two-day course: Thurs – Fri, 11 – 12 Jan 2018
at Liz Calnan’s Studio, Epping
Students work on their own pre-threaded looms. We use a resist-dyeing technique to dye the required weft. The dyed weft will be manipulated to form patterns on the cloth. Learn to design your own patterns for clothing, bags, placemats, scarves, wraps and wall hangings.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner to intermediate: able to thread a 4-shaft loom and tightly bind a skein of thread. Equipment and Preparation: Bring a threaded loom with dark Bendigo 2-ply wool or similar to the course as well as additional light-coloured wool yarn to dye (NB. It is quicker to dye wool than cotton!). Materials: Small fee (TBA) for dyes & notes.
