Fibre Collective unites fibre artists and collectors by supporting our fellow artists through a scheme of collecting and packaging textile/fibre related gift boxes.
The Yahoo group was formed as a means to discuss the project’s undertaking, focusing on specific needs, resolving issues arising eg isolation and uniting fibre artists through a common cause, by extending the hand of friendship.
These heartfelt gift boxes are a small way in which we, as a collective, can assist our fellow artists who have lost their precious stash due to the recent natural disasters in Australia because of fire, flood, storm . . . . or just plain bad luck.
Textile and fibre artists are renowned for their generosity of spirit and sense of community. The Fibre Collective has been established to gather and package resources to suit all skills, techniques and fibre art forms.
These donated textile treasures have been put together into gift boxes that cater to specific fibre interests. If you want to be part of this initiative as either as an individual or as a group and have some fabulous treasures that you wish to share, please email the group.
If you are in need of one of these gift boxes please contact Fibre Collective and indicate your preferred art practice so that an appropriate box can be forwarded to you. The Collective is waiting for your email.
This is bigger than one guild or one textile group. This is a Collective initiative focussing on the great needs of our fellow fibre artists.
