The Tallong Apple Day Committee, with the warm support of Goulburn Handweavers and Spinners Inc, would like to invite a team from our Guild to participate in a shearing/fleece to garment competition in May.
Tallong Apple Day is a community event held on the first Sunday of May each year, to celebrate community, the local history from the early 19th century and to raise funds for community projects and organisations eg the school and RFS.

There will be stalls – bric-a-brac, antiques, candles, hand made food, several music groups and dancing in the street to draw people from far and wide. Activities in the hall include demonstrations of spinning and weaving, quilting, felting and outside there is archery, bull riding, a petting zoo, vintage cars and many events for children and families.
The fleece to garment competition will consist of about four teams, including the Goulburn Handweavers and Spinners, and groups around our district. We hope it will be a fun competition with a trophy and prizes.
Each team will consist of three people, spinners and knitters, who will spin straight from a shorn fleece, knit the singles to complete a small child’s garment. Specifications will be given to the participants shortly before the competition. They would love us to send a team from Sydney.
