The Guild has long been concerned that those who cannot make it to the Monthly Meeting miss out on our guest speakers. We have considered a number of options for recording these speakers ourselves, but we don’t have the equipment or the expertise. Our President (Margie Statheos) recently suggested we have the speakers recorded professionally, she located someone who could do that, and the result of our first recording has been posted (for your enjoyment).
The speaker from our March 2019 meeting was by Daniel Grafton, who speaks with obvious warmth about his mother Margaret Grafton. Margaret was a professional weaver through the 1950’s through to the early 2000’s. Her work was creative and innovative. She wove many commissions for government and private buildings. It is positively inspirational to see a woman carving a professional career in the arts using weaving looms the way she did.
