Join Nathan and Marilyn Peters on their journey of restoring an old Hattersley Loom. These looms are used commercially as a domestic industry in the Islands surrounding Scotland. They use human treadle power to lift the shed, throw a flying shuttle and even change colours. Nathan and Marilyn were keen to have more than a table loom, when they discovered this particular loom. Nathan is a fitter and turner by trade (just as well) and Marilyn is a colour/fashion consultant. The restoration was pains-taking, and it is a continuing labour of love. Nathan now does most of the treading/weaving, while Marilyn is kept busy simply winding the spindles.
