We look forward to seeing fleece to garment teams bright and early at Tallong Apple Festival, 3 May, all we need is some good weather!

If you need access by car to unload gear and equipment, please arrive in good time so you can unload and park your car outside the site before 9.00am. After that time no cars are allowed on site. I will be on site from 6.00am to help if needed, and also on site in the hall on Saturday afternoon if anyone wants to drop off gear.

Spinners/knitters: Fleece will be supplied and we will ask you to spin wool and knit a simple adult size beanie with a pom pom.

Pattern: use 5.50/6.00 needles. Cast on 85sts, knit a ribbed band for 2″/5cms, continue in garter or stocking stitch until you complete 7″/18cms. Draw up sts, or cast off and gather top. Attach pom pom. Have fun, decorate your beanie!

Felt Makers: We will ask you to make an adult size French beret. You may bring your own material suitable for felting, or use some of the raw fleece supplied. We hope you have lots of fun and I am confident you will produce a beautiful beret!

We will have a trophy for the spinners/knitters and another trophy for felt makers, plus some small prizes for participants.

There will be yarns for sale at Waratah Fibres stall, and felted items at both felt makers stalls. Others will demonstrate weaving, knitting from the fleece and lace making, plus a quilting display. We hope it will be a pleasant and fun day for all.

The Festival includes a great variety of stalls, many food stalls, music, and lots of activities for children.
